My experiences in practical journalism.

In our school there was a very valuable magazine, published as much as 500 copies once a week, which in my day was very good for such a publication, because it existed only by the efforts of our team, or rather thanks to Tony Bozhenko. We also had an official school newspaper, but it was so stupid and small-boned that it never occurred to any normal person to read it, and many did not know about its being, instead of reading it «Sputnik and Pogrom» [Russian nationalist internet-journal] or our magazine,  which was called the «Journal of the Patriotic Schoolboy».  The magazine published articles of absolutely wild content, from which any normal person would have had a stroke – so much they were reactionary and simply barbaric from the point of view of the average intellectual reading books like «Snob»and «Dilettante» [it is the two magazines of Russian right-liberal intellectuals], especially since in our printed organ all texts were typed in accordance with the spelling of the Imperial period. At this point I published my article entitled «Down with the Tolstoyevsky dictatorship, long live the beetle-antisemitist!», which met all the demands made by the editor-in-chief Antonina venerable for articles published in her «mouthpiece of totalitarian propaganda» [which namedhis blog one Russian communist journalist – Boris Rozin].

After finishing classes on Friday, as I expected, I went into the garage, where there was a «printing house of the magazine», consisting of several dozen printers, in which five unfortunate eighth graders worked, who had to skip classes and risk falling on «Chinese Imperial examinations» [which in Russia named the state examen in last class of school], devoting two full days off  and half from two working days to work on a magazine that was bound to go out on time. Both of them were extremely tired, because today they had to delay because of me: it was already 17:00 on the clock, and their working day began at 6:30 in the morning, moreover they were deprived of a break and food, and therefore their work was done at all penal. I knocked, and then I entered a spacious and warm brick garage, when I saw those two unfortunate scoundrels who were always busy typing articles from the manuscript to the computer (the «thickness» of the journal was about a hundred pages, and often even more), and courtesy, gave them his text, approved by Tony the day before. The idea to write an article for the magazine, I caught fire when I saw Saida in the process of reading this work, and then learned from Marina what kind of magazine it was; further, I submitted my article to Antonina, and the next day she allowed her to the press. In addition to the printing house itself, which dealt only with technical issues, there was also an editorial office at home for some of the girls, where issues of the journal's content were discussed, and where Tonya and a couple of her assistants worked. On Monday the magazine came out with a very intriguing cover, where I was portrayed as a typical representative of the «Union of Russian People» [the nationalist and monarchy organization in Russian Empire] holding an ax in one hand and a portrait of the last emperor in the other, which was accompanied by the inscription: «I am an antisemitist! And you?». Of course, there was my article, and that's why I decided to write it to you with a reduction of some necessary details, but with the «juiciest» moments, so that you better have an idea about me:

«Down with the Tolstoyevsky dictatorship – long live the beetle anti-Semite!

Despite the fact that our government is doing everything in the name of correcting this situation, Tolstoyevsky's dictatorship, which we inherited from the Old regime, is observed in our school. While in all other states they are already studying their good writers, in our textbooks the reactionary clique of the imperialists, led by the vulgar and obscurantist Leo Tolstoy, still dominates.

John of Kronstadt also spoke of him: «Lord, do not let Tolstoy, the heretic who surpassed all heretics, reach the Feast of the Nativity of the Most-Holy Theotokos, whom he blasphemously and blasphemously. Take it from the ground – this stinking corpse, proud of its all the earth.». Or even so: «Lord, kill and kill the worthless son of a dog, Leo Tolstoy, a nothingness and a heretic, let him die in hell torment on earth, and in hell to burn forever will be!». Or so: «Leo Tolstoy - a miserable squalor, ******!».

Here, alas, in the framework of censorship and public decency, we can not accurately convey the words of the venerable father John, so accurately chosen about this vile individual, who in his opuses profaned the memory of our mighty Church and the Emperor himself! Leo Tolstoy was an extremely dishonorable person, which, like his complete literary impotence, served as a refusal to give the Nobel Prize to this man. The head of the Swedish Academy said the same about Leo Tolstoy: «We can not give out a prize to the wildest obscurantism, which humiliated human dignity as low as it was possible to a man who despised all the achievements of European civilization. Leo Tolstoy deserves a gallows, not a prize!». <...> Tolstoy's doctrine of «non-resistance to evil» is fundamentally false and reactionary, for it rejects in the first place the canonical teaching of the Church, rejects the whole part of the conquests of Christianity for its long history, denies patriotism, which makes it doubly vile, but most importantly it contributes to  the spread of horrors!  Here, as Tolstoy himself writes in the Confessions: «Do not resist, if you are taken into slavery, do not resist, if the enemies kill your children and your wife is deprived of honor – all be patient, as Christ tolerated, and know: punished will be  villains posthumously! Do not resist any lawlessness, but know: the end willcome imminent!». Proceeding from this passage, we can conclude that the entire teaching of Leo Tolstoy is a vile bourgeois doctrine, which is beneficial to the exploiter classes, wishing that the people, after reading Tolstoy, would tolerate any exploitation on their part. Tolstoy writes, however, not only about non-resistance, but also about other things, also, moreover, writes favorably for the powerful and rich, in the «Critique of Dogmatic Theology», thus: «To all schoolboys and schoolboys I say: do not go to these damn  a gymnasium and a school-they will not teach you anything there!  Do not waste the best years of your life on the senseless biting of dead languages ​​– go better into the air, firewood and enjoy life as long as you are young!».

Leo Tolstoy wants to discourage our youth from learning, wants to make him stupid and ignorant, that he will only be more conducive to the interests of the ruling classes, and therefore I propose the most radical measures to be taken: I think it necessary to prohibit all the works of the Lion to spread in the Republic!  Some will start to object to the personal qualities of this person, but even here I will find you an answer worthy: Ivan Lipin was a resident of Yasnaya Polyana – the estate of the Lion – quite clearly remembering life there and mores, while still a child, and his memoirs «Memories of life in Yasnaya Polyana», published in 1956 in Tula with a circulation of 10,000 copies, tell a lot of interesting things about the life of the «great writer» and his relationships with local residents: «Leo Nikolayevich once called me to his place – I played with friends then, I was  nine years – he took me in some barn and made me criminal violence, constantly repeating: «Do not resist,wretch!».».
