The division, however, was not only vertical, but also horizontal: «brigades»were formed, consisting of one slave of the first category as the leader, called the «captain», although one slave of the first category usually commanded several brigades at once, and six or seven dozens of slaves of the second and third categories. The brigade itself was divided into «units» of 6-8, sometimes 8-12 people, consisting of one slave of the second category, who commanded the unit, which was called «sergeant», as well as his subordinates slaves of the third category. Brigades were formed on the basis of age, social and nationality, uniting people for more successful cooperation and organization of production, but there were also the following brigades listed below.
The «Brigade of Exquisite Beginnings»was a kind of Cadet Corps in the defense system, for this brigade consisted almost entirely of kindergartners and junior-school children, who had been taught to slave careers since childhood, as well as their teachers from experienced slaves. In kindergartens, to our school assigned, children from the most tender age were constantly exposed to propaganda from the older part of the slave unit, immediately replenishing it on admission to the primary classes.
The «Brigade of the Downgraded» was an institution that was created because slavery could not be quit or expelled, but it was necessary to punish bad behavior, and therefore created Tony's mind somewhere between the penalty battalion and the ethics section, where they referred to the most dangerous and grave the work of the most hopeless lazy people, exposing them to all sorts of re-education activities.
The «Brigade of the Black-Hundreds»consisted entirely of the national minorities of the Republic, staffed only because of their color, combining Azerbaijanis, Armenians, Chechens, Uzbeks and other persons, being the most incompetent brigade of all.
«The Brigade of the belated autumn» was formed from high school students, students and already working young people who very much wanted to fall into slavery, but did not have time to do that earlier, as well as those slaves that have already grown out of school uniform, but to let Antonina go did not want to, because they were useful. Slaves of the second number were held there by force, promising to hand over the information that compromised them to their university or workplace, and threatening harassment and even reprisals, which they feared to death, staying in the organization for many years after graduation.
The «Brigade of the Wise Owls» consisted of parents of schoolchildren who not only themselves fell into slavery, but managed to recruit their ancestors there, having a very great influence on the work of the organization, for without this group of many activities Antonina might not have happened.
The «Three Brigades of the General Forces» were really three brigades, which were staffed by high school students, being completely devoid of their individuality, and therefore they were often added to documents under that name.
I must say that these brigades gave the greatest mass and the main force to the movement, which was built around them, taking part in all the operations and deeds of Antonina. «The Brigade of Remote Love» was the actual gathering of various people who usually lived very far from Moscow, engaged in a diverse business, and sent their income to Moscow, «working on a franchise»,as Tonya herself used to say.
The «Supporting Brigade» consisted of a wide variety of personalities who for the most part lived in the Moscow region or in remote parts of the capital, providing the most diverse support for Antonina's actions, such as organizing a warehouse of goods in their apartments.
The «Brigade of the Forest Community» was staffed by rural children living near the dacha sections of the first category slaves and Antonina herself, who were engaged in work on these same plots, and later on off-site economic facilities built by their own forces.
Very, very many young people were imbued with the idea of being able to make a career in the Tony’s structure, where to work for the fullest happiness it was necessary to work hard only, but neither knowledge nor money was needed at first glance. An example of slaves of the first category, the desire to be like them, was also very dangerous, for very many young men and women wished to be in the place of these few people, to enter their circle. SaidaIsmanova, Julia Avvakumova, Nastya Kuznetsova, Sonya Barnash, Sveta Solntseva, Marina Brinyushina, Sasha Ryabikina, Yura Ryzhkov and Petya Zyabkin, who helped Antonina in the accomplishment of the coup – that's all, who was at the very top of the pyramid, then while others were in a much less enviable position.
People, however, did not stop the possibility of remaining in the third category until death, unable to leave the system in which they were so eager with all the spasms, but it was too late to tell them, for they were now tied up with the society for many years. Some, however, managed to break into the slaves of the first category through all the thorns, risking their health and even their lives, not to mention their reputation, and a number of these wonderful people included some of my acquaintances who were in the seventh heaven after the acquisition of the long-awaited title.
Returning to the essence of the brigades, I should note that they were not permanent associations with strong ties between people who are in them, rather representing the associations created to maintain order in the ranks. These units were much more formal, and to see such that the entire team was concentrated in one place, you could only on the annual oath of allegiance to Antonina; at the same time, the slaves of the lower categories were responsible to the higher ones within their own brigade, and most disputes were resolved within its borders. All orders were received by the slaves from their brigade commanders, being tied to them in all respects to the point that these same commanders often even checked whether they went to bed on time for tomorrow's ascent into an eerie wound. Where more developed were the temporary and permanent interbrigade associations, consisting of people from different brigades who were engaged in complex and interesting activities, about which the word will be said. Such brigade associations included editorial offices of magazines, a variety of workshops and factories, as well as numerous groups of earnings, which brought in considerable income, sometimes estimated at millions of rubles.
Here I am in the most general terms and outlined our school hierarchical organization of production and the system of exploitation of man by man. This system, although Sergei Alexandrovich called it a «totalitarian pyramid-type cult» it must be said, was not some «other world» completely isolated from society and absolutely static, subject to all the laws of the capitalist economy. This structure was constantly changing and subjected to reforms, on which it pushed life, posing new tasks for it, as well as emerging problems; one of the main such problems was the «enlargement problem», which consisted in the fact that slaves appeared more and more in other cities and even states. If before all other out-of-town slaves there was enough «Brigades of distant love»headed by Sonia Barnash, in course of time more and more brigades will be formed, new posts will be approved, special rules will be introduced, and after all the number of categories will increase to seven, than will be discussed later in my book.
