Chapter thirteen.

How Tonya managed to hide slavery.

You, probably, are worried about this question: how did Tonya Bozhenko manage to have an entire army of slaves and not fall into the hands of the police?

To ask this question is required first of all, of course, for our police, since it was she who did not pay any attention to Tony's activity. And the reason was the installation of our entire police system, which is so different from the police systems of English-speaking countries. In our country there is such a key and obscure European concept, as a «precinct policeman». In fact, this is the only unfortunate policeman who alone is responsible for the police security of the whole urban area.

Of course, if he needs reinforcements, he can call him, but he will be reluctant to help, and therefore this one unfortunate, defending the law in a certain territory, is completely alone and helpless. At that time Alexander Ivanovich Rezniak, who in itself was a very unusual person, occupied the post of district policeman. He graduated from the philological faculty of a pedagogical university, and after working as a teacher, he was soon expelled from work because of his total laziness. Having replaced several jobs, this lazy man was eventually able to get a precinct policeman to full satisfaction.

He came to work not earlier than 12 o'clock in the afternoon, but often did not come at all, preferring to lie in bed all day. At work, he usually slept in his large leather chair, resting his legs on the table. In any case, when I went to his office, he always saw that he had collapsed in his chair, resting his feet on the table. He also liked to eat in the workplace, and tight, and that's why he often ordered food from local restaurants for himself in the office, and he was a lover for a drink. He was a real drunk: when I once went to see him at 12 o'clock in the afternoon, he ate eggs and washed it down with strong rum. Then I said that I just went to look at him, to which he replied: «Look, – just do not bother to sleep.». He himself often said that his morning always begins with a bottle of good whiskey or rum; in a word, he continued and ended every day in the same way. Of course, you can imagine that our order was maintained very unimportantly, since Alexander Ivanovich did nothing, and even went to the toilet to go out.

In Russia, the sacred principle works, according to which there is no problem without a complaint, and therefore the police in our country begin to do something only when someone starts to complain about it. Of course, people came to Alexander Ivanovich who wanted to complain about something, but he always told them through a dream: «Write in detail about your problem on paper, and give it to me.». When petitioners handed over the paper to him and left with hope, all their testimony was immediately sent to the trash. Of course, very soon everyone understood that from the complaints to the district police there would be no improvements, and therefore they stopped addressing him at all. At this very time, Tonya Bozhenko tied up the friendship with the Massacre, especially those related to gastronomic and alcoholic gifts from her: Bozhenko always bore him the expensive strong alcohol, which he used directly on the workers revenge. At the same time, it must be remembered that some things our district police officer still had to do, since the superiors that existed above him at times periodically recalled their existence. He, however, was too lazy to investigate any crime, and therefore he intended to use his philological talent in order to just write them out of his head, as well as the investigation itself. Yes, this person simply took a paper and a pen, and even started writing about incidents that never really happened. He invented testimonies, invented complaints, invented protocols of interrogations, invented absolutely everything, except for real people who had to be responsible for his inventions. The thing is that even for those crimes that were completely invented by a lazy philologist-policeman, someone had to be responsible, especially if the philologist opened these crimes. In this respect, Alexander Ivanovich had no problems, for there were no moral principles either: he simply looked for a person with a rather unpleasant face, arrested him, and then declared that he was a criminal who had done all of us so much harm.

Interrogations with this policeman were also very interesting, but you can understand this only by a specific example, which I will continue to give. Here it will be about one of my friends, who was arrested on charges of theft, which was not. Yes, it was just a district policeman who thought that the teenagers had surrounded the store: he wrote the complaint of the shopkeeper himself, compiled all the case materials, and then found two random teenagers and decided to assign them his own fiction.

- So you stole the store? Confess! – shouted the policeman.

- We did not steal anything. We did not go to that store at all that day. – the suspects answered.

- Excellent, and write: «We were in that day in this store and have completely enclosed it. We are thieves and confess this.». – said the policeman, writing everything in the record of interrogation the way he wanted.

- You're lying! We did not say that! Write it correctly. – the children began to rest against.

- So we'll write: «You're an asshole, cop damn, and generally you're dead. We hate you and want to fuck your mother.».

- What are you writing?! Correct immediately! We will complain! – began to scream adolescents, to whom Alexander Ivanovich attributed his own words.

Alexander Ivanovich, however, unperturbedly wrote: «And in general. We are terrorists and Nazis. We want to kill Russian babies and rape Russian heifers. And you are an asshole! So that you die, fucking guy!».

Seeing this, my friends exclaimed in chorus: «You know, you really are an asshole and a fag!».

- Here! I told you! – answered Alexander Ivanovich.

I must say that our district policeman was even somewhat of a romantic hero, because he sometimes wrote even good poems, which added to him the charisma: the alcoholic poet who works in the police. If you began to worry about him, I must say that later he quit drinking and married a pretty girl who was ten years younger than him; the fact is that he contacted her back in those times when she was still at school, right after the end of which she became his wife. In a word, Alexander Ivanovich's moral transformation is not very consoling for a lot of people who have jailed for quite a long time because of the good imagination of the policeman-philologist. It was thanks to the assistance of Alexander Ivanovich, who safely turned a blind eye to all illegal actions of Antonina Bozhenko, without any opposition to evil, that slavery and drug addiction took root more and more in our district, while the organizers of criminal business felt wonderful. Of course, there were many attempts to punish Tonya, and our «main social teacher of the school» Nina Ivanovna even went to the heads of our district police, seeking truth, although no one there wanted to listen to her. Although no, when she first turned to the higher-ranking police chief, he listened to her with interest, immediately after that he called the Massacre and chastised him for his terrible work. Alexander Ivanovich also «explained» that Nina Ivanovna is a deeply sick person, who is in a state of senile dementia, and therefore you do not need to listen to her; after that our social educator went a couple of times there, but every time her visit ended worse and worse. During the last such visit, when Nina Ivanovna opened the door and looked into the office, saying that she had come about slaves, the police chief got angry and yelled: «Go fuck!».
